Having the right cables can make all the difference in an important project. After much research we have discovered some excellent solutions. These include expedition grade, or light duty cables pre-tested on Ocean Sonics’ instruments. Depending on what your project is needing it will determine which cable to use.

Standard cable lengths: 5, 10, 20, 50, 70, 100 meters

Smart Cable

Simplify hydrophone connections by eliminating junction boxes and clutter of cables. the Smart cable connects four hydrophones to a single input connector. Embedded in the cables are tiny networks electronics that look after the connection process.

Ethernet Repeater

Extend the reach of the extension cable with an Ethernet repeater. The repeater can extend subsea Ethernet to a maximum of 400m by connecting 100m extension cables together.

"We have been working with Ocean Sonics in our technology demonstration program since the first prototypes. Our science users have been very impressed with the very high quality data sets. Ocean Networks Canada is expanding our hydrophone network with Ocean Sonic icListen HF smart hydrophones across our observatory including new sites across coastal BC, as part of the Smart Oceans™ program. The compact size, Ethernet interface, high reliability and exceptional performance make these systems ideal for ocean observing applications such as mammal classification, vessel and ambient noise studies.
